Hotel Vila Ombak, the first international hotel on the magical island of Gili Trawangan, is a place that balances the comforts of first class accommodation with the natural beauty that surrounds. The Hotel Vila Ombak features the traditional building style of Lombok, and its neighboring islands, to blend harmoniously with the island's landscape.

A concept in which the traditional Sasak architecture of Lombok is combined with modern amenities in a very unique way. The traditional lumbung consists of an upper floor bedroom that can be reached from the adjacent big balcony and a spacious open-air living-room area which is underneath. The large semi-open bathroom at the backside can be accessed from the bedroom via a staircase (from an opening in the floor of the bedroom) or from the downstairs living area. There are also bungalow rooms, which are half houses.

Accommodation
The 36 guestrooms consist of 12 Superior Lumbung Hut rooms, 12 Deluxe Lumbung Hut rooms and 12 Deluxe Family Bungalow rooms. All of them are fully equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, in-room safe, mini bar and refrigerator, coffee/tea maker facility, satellite color TV, international telephone and have large semi-open bathrooms.

Lumbung Hut Rooms

- Private Balcony: Located next to the bedroom and equipped with two sundeck-chairs.
- Bedroom: the grass-roofed bedroom is located on the first floor adjacent to the balcony. The bed-room is equipped with a double mattress, raised from the floor. Neither twin bed occupancy and/or any extra bed is possible.
- Bathroom: The semi-open garden bathroom is located on the ground floor adjacent to the open-air living area and has a shower with saline (salty) water, fresh water for rinsing and proper toilet facilities.
- Living room: The open-air living room is located on the ground floor under the Lumbung roof and terrace with an adjacent semi-open bathroom. It is equipped with a Bale, an elevated lounging area (a large day-bed with pillows). A mosquito net is available on request, though rarely needed).

Deluxe Family Bungalow Rooms
The rooms are half houses that have large sleeping and living areas, they also have a Bale (a spacious lounging area) integrated in the room which can easily be used as a bed for children or for an extra person. Each room has twin beds that can be moved side by side to become a double bed. A mosquito net can be provided though it is rarely needed. All Deluxe Bungalow rooms have spacious semi-open bathrooms.

3-level Swimming Pool
Next to our more than 200 meter long beach enjoy our 3-level swimming-pool (saline water) with jacuzzi, waterfall and pool island. From there you can look onto the sea and the neighboring islands with the impressive Mt. Rinjani in the back.

The Ombak Restaurant & Beach Bar
Facing the sea and Lombok's towering Mount Rinjani, the Vila Ombak Restaurant is a comfortable two-storey space, decorated with the area’s arts and crafts. Nestle into one of its many cozy corners or sit outside at the beach terrace next to the waves and treat your taste buds with one of the many delicious food choices. From summer 2005 there will be another specialty restaurant directly on the beach.

The highlight for most visitors to Hotel Vila Ombak is discovering the surrounding clear waters and reefs with its variety of colorful tropical fish. A heaven for snorkeling enthusiasts and divers alike, there are some excellent sites all within a short boat ride. Hotel Vila Ombak has its own Diving Academy that caters for all levels of diving abilities. Fully qualified instructors are available to teach beginners and help them make the most of their first underwater experience or to enable the experienced diver to get the next higher PADI certificate.
