The tour is an off-the-beaten-track adventure on Bali’s cool western upland. Our 4wd jeep will leave the main road and take little traveled back roads towards the quaint village of Wongaya Gede in the nature reserve of Mount Batukaru (7474 ft). The drive through Tabanan Regency, past the hot springs of Yeh Panas, will introduce you to Bali’s Rice Basket.

From the village, a beautiful cascading river is your first stop for a morning tea - coffee break before commencing the jungle trekking. After passing through cacao, coffee and salak (snakeskin) fruit plantations, our highly skilled guide along with a local indigenous guide will take you deep into Bali’s last remaining rainforest half way up the steep flanks of Batukaru Volcano.

You will be introduced to a little known world of flora & fauna that includes huge strangling trees, giant bamboo trees, ferns, wild orchids and hanging liana, the canopy overhead a home for a variety of birds. The trek continues on to the heavily forested mountainside where you can sample tropical fruits and marvel at centuries old trees and finishes at the ancient Batukaru Temple.

Your 4wd jeep will pick you up, go off-road through sleepy villages that boast their picturesque views and then make a drop off at a rice terrace trekking starting point in Mangesta Village. Farmers’ trails are followed through rice terraces where the timeless routine of planting and harvesting of rice will amaze you. The trek leads to hot springs in a small village where you will have a picnic lunch break with a local ambiance accompanied by traditional music. Here you may take a hot shower at nearby hot springs where the temple gods.

Bathed centuries ago and also check out all strange natural phenomena in the surrounding area. From then on, your jeep will take you off the village road to our special spot where, on a clear day, it is possible to see half the island that very few people have laid eyes on. The cruise will continue traversing rice terraces of Jatiluwih, one of Bali’s most breathtaking vistas. A visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest in Sangeh, on the way back to the hotel, will conclude your unforgettable ACTION adventure journey for the day.
